DescriptionTwo warships are engaged in combat in the middle of a choppy sea. The Guerriere, on the left, has lost all three masts. Two men are trying to retrieve a British flag which has fallen into the water. The Constitution, on the right, has holes in the sails and broken spars. An American flag flies from the stern.
