Arthur E. Bowers

Arthur E. Bowers was born in Manchester, Connecticut on 8 August 1855. As a boy he worked on a farm and for Cheney Brothers. After graduating from high school, he taught school in East Hartford, Connecticut and saved his money in order to attend Yale College. After graduating from Yale, he was involved in newspaper work and advertising. Late in life, he became involved in local and state politics, running successfully as a Republican candidate for public office. He died in Manchester on 10 November 1925.
