John BachmannAmerican, active 1849 - 1885

John Bachmann was already a fully trained artist when he immigrated to America sometime prior to 1849. He is primarily known for his birds-eye views of American cities, especially New York and helped to popularize this type of print. While he worked mainly as an artist, he was sometimes also the lithographer, printer, and publisher of his views as well.
