John Jackson Sparkman

John Jackson Sparkman was born on 20 December 1899 in Hartselle, Alabama. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1937-1946 and in the U.S. Senate from 1946-1979 representing Alabama. He was the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for Vice President of the United States in 1952. He died in Huntsville, Alabama on 16 November 1985.
