Susan Bysiewicz

Susan Bysiewicz was born on 29 September 1961 in New Haven, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Stan and Shirley Bysiewicz. She graduated from Yale University and Duke University School of Law. From 1988-1992, she worked at the Hartford law firm of Robinson & Cole, then moved to the legal department at Aetna from 1992-1994. She served as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 100th district from 1993-1999, as the 72nd Secretary of State of Connecticut from 1999-2011, and as the Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut from 2019-present [2025].
