Adella Elizabeth Clark was born on 6 January 1897 in Prospect, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Lavergne Grant Clark (1862-1945) and Katharine Louise Bingham (1866-1960). She had three siblings: Merrit Clark (1898-1898), Gould Clark (1900-1985), and Sylvia Grace Clark (1902-2000).
She graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York in 1918.
She married Charles Oliver Williamson (1891-1964) on 24 August 1922. They had three children: George, Jane, and David. The family lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She died in 1990 in Prospect, Connecticut.
