Alice Elizabeth Cheney was the daughter of John Sherwood Cheney and Ellen Coates Cheney. She married Clifford Dudley Cheney (d. 1948) in 1904.
She was a founder of the Town and Country Club in Hartford.
During World War I she did Red Cross volunteer work in Washington, DC, while her husband was stationed there.
