Lowell Palmer Weicker Jr.American, 1931 - 2023

Lowell Weicker graduated from Yale in 1953 and from the University of Virginia Law School. A Republican, he served as a state representative from Greenwich in 1962, 1964, and 1966 and first selectman of Greenwich in 1963 and 1965. In 1969, he was elected a U.S. Representative and served to 1971 when he was elected to the U.S. Senate, a position he held unitl 1989. In 1990, he successfully ran for Governor declaring he was a one term governor only, and he retired in 1994.
