Jedediah Huntington

BiographyJedediah Huntington was born on 4 August 1743 in Norwich, Connecticut, the first son of General Jabez and his first wife Elizabeth (Backus) Huntington. He graduated from Harvard College in 1763, served in the Revolutionary War, and promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. He was Treasurer of the State, and collector of customs at New London. He married first, Faith Trumbull, daughter of Governor Jonathan Trumbull of Connecticut. She died on 24 November 1775, and he married second, Ann Moore, daughter of a new York City merchant. He died in New London, Connecticut on 25 September 1818.
