According to the granddaughter of Caroline's friend Emma Edwards Peck, Caroline Wood was an orphan who was born about 1875, and was raised in the Enfield Shaker Community. She stayed close with the Peck family, and is reportedly buried in the family plot. (Family plot noted as Rose Hill Cemetery, Bloomfield, but have not been able to turn up a cemetery in that town with that name.)
