Artist Info
William S. PorterAmerican, about 1800 - 1866

William S. Porter was a minister and local historian in Farmington, Connecticut. He is apparently the same William S. Porter who produced the map of Hartford in 1640, based both on historical records and his own surveys. Porter died in Farmington on 11 June 1866; his gravestone in the Riverside Cemetery indicates that he was sixty-six years old.
