Ellen Rebecca Smyth was born in Wilton, Maine in 1847. She married George Henry Soule, also from Maine, in Worcester, Massachusetts. After their marriage, the couple moved to Stamford, Connecticut, where George owned a shoe factory. The Soules had a daughter, Linnette Soule Jones. Ellen Soule died in Stamford, Connecticut in 1916.
