BiographyHenry Chester Porter was born in 1797 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of John Porter (1757-1806) and his wife Mary Williams (1765-1844). He married Sarah Dodge, and they had at least one son, John Stuart Porter (1828-1904). Henry died in 1865.
