Jurgan Frederick Huge

Jurgan Frederick Huge (1809-1878) is believed to have been a German mariner who settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut, as a young man. He prospered as a city grocer, and on the side, he painted ship portraits and some local city scenes. He worked primarily in watercolors, but occasionally, he worked in oils.
