BiographyCatherine Hutchinson (1757-1844) was the niece of Godfrey Malbone, Jr. (1725-1785), a wealthy Newport merchant who retired to Connecticut in 1766. She married Colonel Daniel Putnam (1759-1831), the son of Revolutionary War hero General Israel Putnam (1718-1790).
