William Johnston

William Johnston was a Boston-born artist, the son of Thomas Johnston, engraver. He is known to have painted portraits in Hartford in 1764. He died at Bridgetown, Barbados in 1772, and in his obituary notice in the New London Gazette, he is described as "formerly of this town" (New London).
