BiographyCharles Hosmer was commander of the company of boys that paraded in Hartford, Connecticut, on 4 July 1799. He was fourteen years old at the time. As an adult, he became a successful merchant, printer, and publisher. He was also the recording secretary for the Connecticut Historical Society for many years.
