Caroline Anna Goodwin (1859-1937) was born in Connecticut. She was the daughter of Henry Wheaton Goodwin and Caroline Althea Hinman. She was the granddaughter of Judge Joel Hinman and Maria Scoville.

She married John Dwight Parker (1850-1919) on 12 October 1880 in Rutland, Vermont. They had four children: May Clement Parker Reed (1881-1961), Helen Parker Wayne (1883-1980), Katharine Goodwin Parker Cheney (1890-1973), and Caroline Parker Smith Chubb (1897-1938).
