John ChurchillAmerican, 1785 - 1823
John Churchill was born in Newington, Connecticut, on 11 April 1785, the son of Samuel Churchill (1757-1834) and Mercy Boardman Churchill (1757-1834). He worked as a farmer in New Hartford, Connecticut. On 9 September 1811, he married Laura Welles (1789-1877). They had five children, including Electa Churchill Seymour (Mrs. Henry Albert Seymour) (1818-1873) and John Churchill (b. 1814). John Churchill died of a fever on his way back to Connecticut from the South on 17 September 1823.
