BiographyDeodate Bement was the son of Edmond and Abigail Meakins Bement of Enfield, Connecticut. The family name is sometimes given as Beaumont. After serving in the Revolutionary War, Deodate Bement married Mary Parsons (d. 1790) of Wallingford in 1780, moving to Wallingford in that year. In 1790, Bement married Lucina Rose.
