Alison Ely Palmer1871 - 1961

Alison Ely Palmer was born on December 29, 1871 in Ellington, the son of Emma (Ely) and Churchill Strong Palmer. Alison worked for he Winsted Silk Company, which became a subsidiary of Belding Brothers. He married Louise Ellen Potter on June 8, 1907. Their daughters were Florence Breckenridge (1908-2005) and Cornelia Alice (1913-1995).

Between 1926 and1927, the Palmer family moved to Elgin, Illinois, where Alison again worked for a silk mill, Collingbourne Silk. He maintained a summer home in Winsted where his wife and daughters retreated through their adult years.

Alison Palmer died on September 16, 1961.
