Homer Sackett Curtis

Homer Sackett Curtis was born in Warren, CT in 1841, son of Erastus and Joanna (Sturtevant) Curtiss. On September 11, 1862, he enlisted in Company H, Connecticut 2nd Heavy Artillery Regiment during the American Civil War. He achieved the rank of Brevet Captain on April 6, 1865. He married Alice Gertrude Bradley in 1870. They had at least two children: Katherine Rhodes Curtis (1871-1972) and Leslie Sackett Curtis (1873-1970). Homer died on March 17, 1875 and is buried in Bridgeport, CT.
