Josephine Craige was born on November 19, 1823, daughter of Seth and Angelina (Shaw) Craige. On October 16, 1845, she married Joshua Ballinger Lippincott. Their children were Craige Lippincott (1846-1911), Walter Lippincott (1849-1927), Josephine Sarah Lippincott (1850-1939), John Lippincott (b. 1852), and Joshua Bertram Lippincott (1857-1940). Josephine died on February 14, 1899, at the age of 75.
