Charles Edward Cole was born on 7 February 1907 in Ohio. He married Catharine Wayne (1910-1993) in 1933. They had at least two daughters, Antonia "Toni" Cole Burns (1935-2016) and Cynthia Cole Wesner (1938-2011). Starting sometime in the 1930s, the family lived in Manchester, Connecticut. He died on 29 December 1969 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
