Dennis Thomas Bosio Sr.American, 1916 - 1997

Dennis Thomas Bosio was born on March 6, 1916, in Torrington, Connecticut, to Stephen and Teresa Maria Bosio, both Italian immigrants. In 1937, he married Mary Chinetti. They had a son, Dennis Bosio Jr., born around 1943. He enlisted in the Army on August 26, 1943, and served as a private in Company E of the 142nd Infantry of the 36th Division during World War II. He was wounded in battle in October 1944 in France and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. From May or June 1945 to December 5, 1945, he served in the Medical Detachment Department 118th Station Hospital until he was discharged from service at the end of the year. The 1950 census records him as working as a machine setter at a tool company and he retired in 1978 after working for the Torrington Company for over 40 years. He died on January 24, 1997.
