BiographyHelen Ida Lister was born on 3 November 1904 in Walden, New York. She was the daughter of Joseph H. Lister (1881-1957) and Leila (Hook) Lister (1876-1974). She had four siblings: Grace E. (Lister) Voorhees (1899-1995), Gilbert H. Lister (1902-1944), Leila R. (Lister) Cole (1910-2003), and Madeline (Lister) Gelgauda (1913-2009). She grew up in Devon, Milford, Connecticut.
During World War II, Helen enlisted in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) and was sent to Paris, France after the liberation. She served in the 84th Division Infantry.
She married Malcolm Everett Lodge (1906-1993) on 15 November 1949 in Milford, Connecticut. They had no children.
She died on 19 December 1999 in Charlton, Massachusetts.
