Sheila M. HennesseyAmerican, born 1937

Sheila McCue Hennessey, born on August 30, 1937, in Middletown, Connecticut, is an American lawyer and former Probate Judge. She attended Albertus Magnus College, graduating in 1958 with a political science degree. She then pursued law at Boston College Law School, earning her degree in 1961, notably as one of only two women in her class to graduate and serve on the Law Review.

After passing the Connecticut Bar in 1961, Hennessey briefly worked at Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. She later chose to focus on raising her four sons, returning to practice law by opening a general practice office from her home in Wethersfield. Hennessey also served as an elected Probate Judge in Connecticut, a position from which she observed and addressed ethical issues within the legal profession. She is recognized for her contributions to the legal field and her insights into the changing roles of women in law and the impact of technology on legal practice.
