Minott Ward

BiographyMinott Ward was born on 24 May 1824 in West Haven, Connecticut, the son of Captain Jacob Ward (1784-1869) and Henrietta Kimberly (1789-1868). Had at least two brothers, Frederick Sherman Ward (1812-1865); and George Ward (b. 1820), also both captains. Minott was captain of the USS General Lyon, and was lost at sea on 31 March 1865 off of Cape Hatteras.
