DescriptionOvoid, grey stoneware jug with cobalt blue decoration; the jug has a salt glaze on the exterior and a brown slip glaze, or Albany-type slip glaze, on the interior. The jug has a pulled strap handle that connects the reeded neck to the shoulder. Opposite the handle is an impressed maker's mark, "E. FRARY & Co/ E. HARTFORD". Cobalt blue has been applied to the ends of the handle and a few spots below the mark; some of the blue drips down the side of the jug. The glaze is somewhat irregular, with some thicker areas and some areas of a light brown color. There is one chip in the rim and three chips at the bottom of the jug.
