DescriptionViews document the construction of a large building with limestone ashlar walls and a plain Ionic portico. Some photographs include steel frame construction, including girders and beams, scaffolding, and cranes. A large sign in 2003.55.58 reads: "NEW HOME / OF THE / CALEDONIAN INSURANCE COMPANY / CALEDONIAN-AMERICAN INSURANCE CO. OF NEW YORK / NETHERLANDS INSURANCE CO. OF HOLLAND / ROBERT R. CLARK - U.S. MANAGER / CARL J. MALMFELDT / ARCHITECT / INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION CO. / GENERAL CONTRACTORS." Some photographs include leafless trees, fire hydrants, chain link fences, wooden fences, paved streets, and automobiles. Some views show the completed building. An interior view of an office includes women office workers seated at desks.
