DescriptionWoman's brown wool hip-length coat with brown velvet trim. The center front opening fastens with five velvet-covered buttons; the lower opening is cut away to form an inverted "V". The turn-down collar is velvet. The curved seams from the shoulder to the hem on both front and back are inserted with accent strips of the velvet. On the back in the area of the waistline, five velvet-covered buttons are stitched along each of these seams. The top and bottom buttons of these groups are larger than the middle three buttons. The sleeves are slightly gathered at the shoulder; they end in turn-back cuffs that are decorated with two large velvet-covered buttons flanking one small button. The coat is lined with brown satin.
