DescriptionView of Ward Cheney (1875 - 1900) standing outside in a grassy clearing. He is standing with his feet spread apart and his arms behind his back. Ward is wearing a military uniform, probably the uniform for the First Connecticut Volunteers. It consists of a campaign hat, jacket with pockets, pants, and tall boots. There is part of an awning or canopy visible to the left and there are several tents in the background.
