DescriptionLidded rectangular box with brass hinges, etched with an image of the main Aetna Insurance building in Hartford. The cigars were specially selected for The Aetna Life Club. A paper stamp on the right front corner has been torn. The Aetna Life Club was a social organization composed of the officers and clerks in the home office of Aetna Life and its affiliated companies. Its aim was to develop "social features" among the employees.

On each of the short sides: "Aetna Life Club // Hartford, Conn. / Cabinets"

On the front: Cabinets / Aged in Cedar"

On the bottom in an outlined box: "Factory No. 249, 14th District, / State of new York. / Notice: The Manufacturer of the Cigars herin / contained has complied with all the requirements / of law. Every person is cautioned not to use either/ this box for Cigars again, or the stamp thereon / again, not to removed the ocntents of this box with / out destroying said stamp, under the penalties / provided by law in such cases." below wich appears "Factory No. 249 / 14th Dist. N. - Y. / 50 /None Genuine without this Trademark / and window opening" below which is an arrow pointting to a circle and then a logo for Cedars printed verticially. Below the arrow is "J.B. Back & Co., Inc. U.S. Patent 1999134 - 2022641". At ninety degrees to the text in the block is another set of rectangles, the "top" one has a capital F inside a small box next to a larger one with "The cigars herein contained / were manufactured to retail at / more than 15 c[ents] each and / not more than 20 c[ents] each / and are so tax paid." another box has in capital letters "CLARO".
