Cabbages and carrots are in the left foreground. Stairs at the right lead up to a porch above. An old man smoking a long clay pipe, a young child, and a young woman wearing a cap are in the porch. Vines grow beside the stairs and hang from the roof of the porch. A man on horseback is in the left background, beyond a five-barred gate.
