DescriptionNinth plate daguerreotype of Ellen Cornelia Pomeroy, perhaps before she married Thomas Mills Day. She is young, perhaps in her late teens or early twenties. She is wearing what looks like a shirtwaist but might be the bodice of a dress, and a small ribbon worn around the base of her throat, fastened with a brooch. Her hair is fashioned into a braid that crosses the crown of her head. She is wearing small drop earrings.
