DescriptionCylindrical tin wrapped in a white paper label with blue printing. Net weight, one pound. "WILLIAMS / FAMOUS / CHARTER OAK / [a drawing of a large tree in a circular device) / [on a blue rectangle, in white] COFFEE / ALWAYS FRESH ROASTED" Below this is printed "ROASTED & PACKED BY / THE WILLIAMS & CARLETON CO. / EAST HARTFORD, CONN. / TEA, COFFEE, SPICE & EXTRACTS". The same printing appears on the back label, and on each side, in a white circle with a blue border: VANILLA / COCOA / SPICES, COFFEE, TEA. Inside the circle and on the red horizontal bard are the words: "Manufacturers / WILLIAMS / Since 1825."Raised lettering on the lid reads the same as the circular marks on each side.
