NotesSubject Note: Kingman Brewster, Jr., was born 17 June 1919 in Longmeadow, Massachusetts and died 8 November 1988 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He graduated from Yale University in 1941, and also graduated from Harvard with an LL. B. in 1948. He was a professor of law at Harvard 1950-1960, and then became president of Yale University from 1963-1977. He was appointed as ambassador to Great Britain 1977-1981, and remained in London as a representative of an American law firm. He became a master of University College, London, in 1986.
