DescriptionLapel pin in 10 karat gold in the shape of a Greek key with an oval shield decorated with a laurel wreath, the letters Delta, Kappa, Gamma, and a Greek urn symbolizing the cup of knowledge. (The cup of knowledge and the laurel wreath on the crest represent achievement.) The verso is marked "GB" and is engraved: "BEATRICE/ FOX/ AUERBACH/ MAY 11./ 1929".

Beatrice Fox Auerbach was especially interested in the field of education. In 1941 she established a foundation to provide scholarships and in 1939 she set up the Auerbach major in retailing and allied fields at the Connecticut College for Women. In 1956 she endowed a professorship in economics at Trinity College and in 1967 she established at the University of Hartford the Beatrice Fox Auerbach Hall which houses the School of Business.
