DescriptionTwelve-sided, white ironstone soup tureen, lid, and tray. The tureen (.a) sits on a twelve-sided foot and has two molded and applied handles in the shape of leaves. The domed lid (.b) has a similar molded and applied finial. The soup tureen and lid are decorated with a series of shallow raised leaves along the foot of the tureen and rim of the lid. The handles also provide decoration, as the base of each handle expands to form three leaves that spread across the side of the tureen and top of the lid. A small semi-circular portion of ceramic is cut out at the rim of the lid to provide space for a soup ladle to rest in the tureen. The twelve-sided tray (.c) is decorated in a similar manner, with raised leaves around the rim and leaves forming handles on opposite sides of the tray. There is crazing over all the surfaces of the tray (.c).
