DescriptionStays for a girl aged about four or five years old. The front covering is beige linen, as is the lining. The top and bottom edges are bound with soft, white leather. The center front panel has a 3 1/4-inch-wide square edge at the bottom, which flares to six inches at the top. The stays are constructed with seven separate panels which are whipstitched together. Each panel is stitched with coarse thread in rows to create casings for the boning. The bottom edge of the stays is tabbed. The stays close up the center back with spiral lacing.
