DescriptionDark aqua velvet day dress, which is loosely fitted so that it slips over the head. The neckline is slightly low and rounded and is finished with self-piping. The waistline is defined by an 8 3/4-inch-wide band of fabric. The skirt panels are flared; the center panel is cut on the bias and a corner extends up into the waist area. The waist is surrounded by a narrow self-fabric belt with a diamond shaped faux buckle set with paste diamonds. The belt snaps closed. The sleeves are short, triangular wings set in the bodice with raglan seaming. The dress bodice is lined with a separate light brown silk, finished at the neckline with machine-made valenciennes lace.
