DescriptionWhite leather shoes with open lattice design across the top of the foot in strips of red leather, laced with red silk grosgrain ribbon. The throatline is also edged with the red leather, and a slightly curved, narrow X-pattern in the red leather is stitched across the vamp at the base of the toes. The 2-inch Louis heel is covered in red leather. The toes are an oval shape. The quarters are lined with white leather, extending in a strip around the throatline. The vamp is lined in white twill-woven cotton. The sock lining is white leather. The soles are shaped for the right and left foot.

MarkingsThe sock lining of the right shoe is stamped in gold with the design of a peacock, with the word "PEACOCK" above; the sock lining of the left shoe is stamped in gold with: "PEACOCK SHOE / NEW YORK --- PARIS / 42ND ST - AT 5TH AVE."
