DescriptionFront-lacing boots, with a whole vamp of shiny black leather, and top of black leather with a duller finish. The boot laces through six pairs of metal eyelets and four pairs of hooks, backed by a leather tongue. The boxed toes are a rounded point shape and are slightly bulbous. The stacked heel is 3/4 of an inch high. The boots have a loop of woven tape stitched at the center back to help pull them on. This tape is woven with the name of the manufacturer, W. L. Douglas. The lacing edges are lined with leather; the rest of the upper is lined with brown twill-woven cotton. The soles are shaped for the right and left foot.

MarkingsCotton tape stitched in a loop at the top of the center back seam is woven with the name of the manufacturer in script lettering: "W. L. Douglas." Stamped in black ink on the lining: "8 B 3747". The sole is stamped: "3/2".Subject Terms
