DescriptionNinth plate tintype of Charles E. Bulkeley when he was about 20 years old, taken by an unknown photographer. He is wearing a dark jacket, white shirt, and a dark tie. His hair is worn long.

Adhered to the glass is a second image of Bulkeley, this one on paper. It is probably an albumen print. It is similar, but not identical, to the tintype.

The decoration on the brass window mat is patriotic/military in theme: there are eagles holding American flags, drums, a crossed sword and rifle, and cannon.
