DescriptionHead and shoulders length portrait of Ward Cheney (1875-1900) in a military uniform. There is a pin on each side of the collar of his jacket that depicts crossed muskets, and another pin on each side that reads "U.S." Ward is wearing a Stetson style hat. The photograph has been cut in an oval shape and mounted on a piece of thick paper or thin cardstock. There is a rectangular impression in the middle of the mount, forming a frame around the photograph.
