DescriptionHead and shoulders length portrait of Ward Cheney (1875-1900) in a military uniform. There is a pin on each side of the collar of his jacket that depicts crossed muskets, and another pin on each side that reads "U.S." Ward is wearing a Stetson style hat. The photograph has been cut in an oval shape and mounted on a piece of thick paper or thin cardstock. There is a rectangular impression in the middle of the mount, forming a frame around the photograph.

Cataloging worksheet in object file gives date as circa 1899. Cataloging worksheet in object file states that Ward was shot in the leg twice while serving in the Army in the Philippines and died of shock.On View
