MarkingsA printed paper label affixed to the interior back of the clock reads, in the center, "PATENT/ CLOCKS,/ INVENTED BY ELI TERRY,/ MANUFACTURED AND SOLD/ BY/ JULIUS PECK & CO./ Litchfield, Conn./ WARRANTED IF WELL USED./ JOHN RUSSELL, PRINTER....HARTFORD, CONN." Sections to the left and right of this portion of the label both have directions for use printed on them. A half circle above the central part of the label contains an eagle with outstretched wings. A banner in its beak reads, "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
