DescriptionPortrait of Francis Ann Larned (attributed to Francis Alexander), to slightly below the waist, seated, and facing slightly right. Larned is wearing a white dress with short sleeves, and has a white shawl around her shoulders. Her right elbow is resting on the arm of the chair in which she sits, and her right hand is on top of her left wrist. Larned has dark brown eyes and hair, and her hair is parted in the middle, curled, and off the back of her neck and face. The background of the portrait is dark and somewhat murky. A three-inch-wide gold leafed wooden frame surrounds the painting.
