DescriptionWorking sketches, elevations, floor and plot plans, show different stages of design development, for alterations to a four-story masonry fire station with elements of the Neo-Classical Revival and Beaux Arts styles. There are four sets of double-doors at ground level, multiple windows with stone lintels on the second and third floors, and arched windows on the fourth floor, flanked by double pilasters. Alternative treatments are shown for the parapet, including urn-shaped finials, and gable and arched pediments capped with a large American flag. Plans for the first floor show the fire truck and apparatus areas. The second, third, and fourth floors have bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, recreation rooms, store rooms, and fire alarm apparatus rooms.
