DescriptionBust-length or half-length studio portraits, mostly of young men and women, members of the Hillhouse High School Class of 1895. Men wear jackets and shirts; most also wear neckties and celluloid collars. A few wear eyeglasses. Two older men, with mustaches, appear to be teachers. Women wear dresses, some with high collars or lace trim; most have very wide, balloon sleeves. One woman wears a fur-lined cape. Studio props, including an elaborately carved chair, appear in some portraits.
