InscribedA piece of cream-colored cloth tape is affixed to the bottom of the right rail. Hand-written in blue ink is, "T. K. Field".NotesHistorical Note: According to a letter written by the donor, this was made by her uncle, John Gardiner Thurber. He was a "forty-niner", and went to California in 1849 to find gold. He was aboard ship when he made this, returning from the gold fields of California via Cape Horn.On View
